Who Is KING?

Who We Are:  King Connections a consulting firm that specializes in providing innovative business and Internet marking solutions and strategies for its clients.  King Connections is incorporated as a Benefits Corporation in the state of Maryland.  Our mission is to improve social changes within low-to-moderate income communities by committing 10% of its profits to fund community-based non-profits, and faith based organizations whose mission it is to eliminate the racial wealth gap through education and outreach programs.

King Connections is committed to making a social impact by providing funds and resources to community based non-profit organizations whose mission is to provide education in the areas of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, business development, neighborhood connectedness, youth programs, elderly assistance, homeless services, job training, and employment services.   King Connections will carry forth this mission by offering an annual grant of $20,000 that non-profit organizations can apply to assist them with funding programs, startup costs, and capacity building.  King Connections will also provide resources to non-profit organizations in the way of sponsoring venues for meetings and classes, volunteering a minimum of 10 hours per month and purchasing items such as books, computers, and office supplies.  King Connections will also sponsor quarterly fundraising events to bring additional funds and resources to the non-profit organizations that King Connections has identified.

King Connections has drafted a Social Impact Assessment that will be used to identify which non-profit organizations we will support.  The Social Impact Assessment will be comprised of the following:

  1. Organization’s mission
  2. Target population the organization attends to serve
  3. Organization’s presence in the community
  4. Organization’s impact in the community
  5. Organization’s track record in the community
  6. Organization’s management
  7. Organization’s plan and purpose for the funds

Currently King Connections has identified the following non-profit organizations:

  2. Gandhi Brigade
  3. Montgomery Cable Access TV
  4. Takoma Park Community Action Group (TPCAG)
  5. Takoma Foundation

Founder/Consultant

Christopher King has over 20 Years experience as a consultant in the areas of Business and Real Estate. King has worked with several fortune 500 companies such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockeed Martin, SAIC, Computer Dynamics and the Federal Government.  Mr. King has provided consulting services all around the world in countries such as Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Italy, and Bahrain.  King has provided real estate consulting services to several real estate brokerages and HUD Approved Non-Profit Counseling agency in the DC area including REMAX, Century 21, Keller Williams, and Long and Fosters.  Mr. King brings over 20 years experience as a Real Estate Investor and has experience in a variety of investment strategies such as Short Sales, Wholesaling, Renovating, and Buy and Hold. More recently Mr. King has used his business and real estate experience to establish a Non-Profit Organization titled The Partnership for Housing Recovery and Sustainability that is a mastermind of real estate and business professionals committed to housing recovery and sustainability.
King is currently the Founder and CEO of King Connections a consulting firm that specializes in providing innovative and measurable business systems and marketing solutions for small businesses.
King is a adamant Connector and spends over 15 hours a week in building and managing strategic relationships and is the creator of the “Connecting With Intent” Strategy.

King currently develops and teaches educational curriculum in the areas of finances, credit, and homeownership education for HUD approved nonprofit organizations and local municipalities. He is currently developing and teaching courses for the City of Takoma Park in the areas of finances, credit, and strategies for landlords. King also contributes articles on the topics of real estate, credit, and finances for his internet blog.” King is also the founder and CEO of King Connections a business and real estate consulting firm that specializes in developing customized business systems designed to manage your business more efficiently. King has over 12 years experience in acquiring, renovating and selling residential real estate as an investor. King has extensive knowledge in analyzing income producing real estate as well as designing profitable exit strategies for his clients. He has written a course on Self Leadership and Development centered on the business of real estate and trained both novice and seasoned agents on real estate investment strategies.  King is a passionate community advocate and volunteer, donating over 40 hours a month within his community. His motto is “Giving for Success” and is evidenced by his extensive volunteer work including the following: Current • Board Member of Montgomery County Housing Partnership a non-profit housing organization whose mission is to preserve and expand quality affordable housing in Montgomery County. • Committee Member, Takoma Park Coalition of Tenant and Landlord Affairs (COLTA). The COLTA committee mitigates disputes between landlord and tenants. • Board member of the Arlington County Homeless Coalition. • Active volunteer with Faith Based Organizations with their outreach ministries in the areas of Homeless and Youth. Former • Chairman of the Board for a Takoma Park Non-Profit Organization, Community Health and Empowerment through Education and Research (CHEER). CHEER’s mission is to provide people with the knowledge and ability to create healthy, thriving communities. CHEER is a community-driven process for identifying community vision and goals, and for gathering the information and resources needed to measure and fulfill them. • President of the Maple View Residents Improvement Association, a tenant association with 85 members. King was instrumental in getting the organization established and growing the membership to 85 members in four months • President of the National Business League of Greater Washington, a hundred and seven year old organization established in 1900 by Booker T Washington for the empowerment and development of Black Business. • Director of Youth Development for the Takoma Park Community Action Group, a community based Non-Profit dedicated to improving the lives of all Takoma Park, MD residents. • Foreclosure Consultant to assist HUD approved Non-Profit organizations with resolving complex foreclosure and default loans situations for their clients. King is a long-time Takoma Park resident and is currently working on several new projects including developing an e-newsletter and a cable-TV show, “King St”, which focuses on the local Washington, DC metro area real estate market. The show will feature articles on finances, real estate, and credit. He is an avid reader of books on the subject of self improvement, real estate investing, business development, black history, and economics.

CHARLOTTE BURLEY is an award winning writer, producer, acclaimed author and entrepreneur. She is the President and owner of an independent production company LIBRA BABY BURLEY PRODUCTONS, LLC. In 2007 Burley produced BETJ’s hit late night talk show THE TURN ON- talking love, sex and relationships with the stars. Receiving raved reviews from The New York Times, The New Yorker, Entertainment Magazine to The Village Voice. The release of Burley’s critically acclaimed novel Cosmopolitan Girls in 2004 made Burley one of the first women of color to embrace the chick lit movement and generated media coverage ranging from UPN, Fox, and Essence to The New York Times. She has also shared her expertise on sex and relationships as a guest on The Tyra Banks Show.

Allen has been negotiating short sale since early 2007.  He started out as an investor, negotiating short sale for his own clients.  As the market turned beginning in 2008, more and more of his Realtor associates asked him to  help them with their short sale listings, and slowly, he established himself as a resources center and go-to person for all of their short sale needs.
During the last couple of years, he mainly gained experience in negotiating short sale by actually negotiating them, and talking to other professionals in the field, such as other negotiators, attorneys, title companies, etc. He is currently working with Justice Title, who is an approved instructor for PDI, to develop with a short sale class for PDI.
Currently, he is negotiating short sales for agents from Keller Williams, Fairfax Realty, Express Home Buyer, Haven Realty, BMI Realtor, Premier Realty, Century 21, and many other brokers.  Their services currently covers MD, VA, DC, FL, CA, DE and expanding.
His company Sequoia Properties & Management, LLC have a  total 93 active files in their pipeline.  Since 2008 that have closed a total of 196 short sale cases, which covers most of the major lenders out there, i.e., BOA, Chase, SunTrust, ASC, Saxon, Citi, Wells Fargo, GMAC, etc.
Working with such a wide variety of  lenders, has provided them with first hand knowledge of how each lender works with short sale and their approval process, whether they are sitting in 1st lien, or 2nd lien, or even 3rd.  They are also relentless for their client’s cases, following up with lenders every three days for each files is their process.  They are also experienced in working with all parties to construct a win-win-win deal, regardless the complexity of the situation.
Their team consists of  three full time processors, one part time intern, one property manager, two attorneys specialized in Real Estate law, bankruptcy and litigation. Allen states that “Our philosophy is to  take on any cases regardless the area and do the best we can to assist the home owner or realtor to short sale them.  Until either the home owner or Realtor quit on us, we will never quit!”
